Freediving courses

We offer freediving courses for all levels. Beginners wanting to take their first dive under the surface, to more experienced wanting to take their freediving to the next level. The courses can be given in both English and Swedish. 

Try freediving & snorkeling

Your first dive under the surface & snorkeling 

⏱︎ 1 day

   ✓   Basic theory

   ✓   Safety & buddy system

   ✓   Diving session with buoy och line in open water

   ✓   All necessary equipment 

   ✓   If you only want to snorkel that's also OK

Course opportunities 2026:

  • May: 28 (full), 31 (full) 

  • June: 6 (full), 10, 13, 16 (full), 23, 24

  • July:  14 (full), 15, 18 (full)

  • More course dates will be announced 

  • We start at 9 and end approximately 14:30

Price: 1 400 SEK

(Can be booked as a private group for 4 800 SEK, up to 4 participants. Contact us for available dates.)

Freediving course AIDA 2

Become a certified freediver

⏱︎ 3 days

   ✓   Freediving theory 

   ✓   All techniques and practices for safe freediving

   ✓   3 open water diving sessions (max depth 14 m)

   ✓   1 static breath hold session

   ✓   1 dynamic (swimming) breath hold session

   ✓   All necessary equiptment

   ✓   International AIDA 2 certificate

   ✓   Max 4 students per course + 2 instructors

Course opportunities 2026:

  • June: 12–14, 26–28 (full), 

  • July: 10–12 (1 spot left), 31 July – 2 August (2 spots left)

  • August: 7–9 (1 spot left)

  • More course dates will be announced

  • We start at 9 and end at 17:00 on Friday and Saturday, on Sunday we end at 14:00

Price: 4 800 SEK

(Can be booked as a private group for 16 300 SEK, up to 4 participants. Contact us for available dates.)

About us

We at Brännö Hav are all water-people who are passionate about the freedom that the ocean gives us. We offer personal, safe and fun courses as an introduction to life below the surface.

Filippa

The electric boat Snäckan

Our beautiful electric boat Snäckan takes you to Brännö's best snorkeling and diving spots. We strive to have as little environmental impact as possible. The electric boat's engine is quiet and does not release any pollutants into the sea. We think that's pretty great!

FAQ

How do you get to Brännö? 

  • There are boats from Saltholmen's boat terminal to Brännö Rödsten (bikes can be brought onboard). Timetable.

  • It is a 20-minute walk to Lönndalsvägen 28 where we meet. You must be there by 10:00 am. The instructors will be there half an hour before. End times are adjusted to boat times back to Saltholmen.

Is there accommodation on Brännö?

  • Yes, if you want to stay overnight on the island you can stay at Brännö Värdshus, via Airbnb or Stugknuten. 

  • If you have any questions about accommodation, please contact us. 

Can I reschedule or cancel?

  • Rescheduling is possible free of charge up to 14 days before the start of the course, subject to availability.

  • If you cancel more than 30 days before the start of the course, 75 percent of the amount will be refunded .

  • If the course is cancelled by the organizer, the full course fee will be refunded or a spot will be offered on another course date.

We are committed to a cleaner ocean. We dive for ghost nets and other abandoned fishing gear off Brännö, rescue some crabs and pick up trash!
